ADOLESCENT GYNECOLOGY

The adolescent patient requires special treatment and care.  The first gynecological exam is often dreaded and feared.  I make every effort in making my young patients feel comfortable with themselves and their bodies.  I emphasize education and counseling.  Topics often discussed include the menstrual cycle ( including the anatomy and physiology as well as the sexually transmitted diseases including HPV and the HPV vaccine.
